Sharon Dawson - BHSAI, BHS Int teach, BHS Int stable manager, ANCEBM .

Sharon has been running Bardwell Manor Equestrian Centre since 1996. Sharon has been working with horses since she was 16 years old when she went as a working pupil to Snowball Farm, Buckinghamshire. Having competed her BHSAI qualification she went on to teach at Reeves Hall, Norfolk for a year.

Sharon then continued with her studies and attended the Cambridge College of Agriculture and Horticulture for a year. During this time she gained her Advanced National Certificate in Equine Business Management.

Having left college Sharon set up Hill Farm stables in Elmswell which she operated for two years before moving to Bardwell. Since arriving at Bardwell she has continued to train, gaining her BHS intermediate Teaching and Stablemanager certificates.

Over her many years riding Sharon has competed in eventing, showjumping and dressage with a number of successful horses. Now, as well as balancing motherhood and running the equestrian centre she continues compete in affiliated dressage.


Karl Dawson - BHSAI/UKCC Level 2, ABRS ITA.

Karl served around for 9 diverse years with the R.A.F. Regiment.

Karl was already a keen rider and having left the R.A.F. Karl decided to embark on a career with horses. Karl first gained his Association of British Riding Schools Initial Teaching Award and then continued his studies and gained his BHSAI.

Karl ran the stables at The Ickworth Hotel for five years before joining Sharon at Bardwell as a full time instructor/yard manager. Karl competes in affiliated dressage competitions, regularly qualifying for regional championships.


Both Sharon and Karl enjoy teaching all levels of rider from beginners up to career students and competition riders. We are keen to help EVERYONE improve their riding and horsemanship.
